You will certainly want to spend your time enjoying the adventures and beaches that Costa Rica offers. However, there is another fun diversion that we enjoy on occasion. Just a short but steep walk down from Vista Hermosa, or quick drive from all of our luxury vacation villas, you can find an 18 hole “putting course” next to the Four Seasons driving range. The putting course is a simple but fun “mini golf,” without the windmills and gimmicks.
We find that it is a fun and relaxing way to burn off a little extra energy for the little ones, and a great introduction to golf. Whether they focus and hit, or simply walk the “course” and hand deliver the golf balls to the holes in flip flops and wearing Santa pants, it is a great family outing in a lovely setting. And it can certainly be made into lighthearted fun for the golf pros in your group with a hole-in-one contests or wager over “18 holes.”
In late afternoon, there are often coatimundi on the driving range, looking for grubs and other dinner fare. The howler monkeys will be calling across the Peninsula throughout the day, but especially nearing sunset. It is a relaxing and beautiful way to close out the day, combining sports with nature.
Whether at the stunning Arnold Palmer designed course or at this Four Seasons Costa Rica designed putting course, you are sure to have fun playing golf or mini-golf!
Pura vida!
