Renovated Golf Course Reopens in November
The back nine of our Four Seasons managed golf course has been out of commission since June 2022, while being completely reshaped under direction of the Arnold Palmer Design Company. I am including highlights, and look forward to testing the adjustments later this year!
The 10th hole has always been quite hidden from the tee boxes. They have cleared out vegetation for clearer views of your goal and approach. They’ve also reworked the bunkers on the side of the green.
The 11th hole, a short par 3, has had an eco-upgrade with the inclusion of native grasses requiring less irrigation. Bunkers were adjusted in both front and back to make entry a bit easier and back pins more guarded.
The 12th hole (where I have golfed with deer… and seen a coyote!) is a long par 5 and has had several fairway bunkers combined into one, with new bunkers near the 2nd landing area.
The 13th hole saw bunkers moved significantly down the fairway and bunkers at the green rebuilt for better advance visibility. The green was expanded by over 2000 sf.
The 14th hole had significant adjustments. The designers expanded all of the tee boxes on the 14th hole, and vegetation cleared for better sightlines to the green. Bunkers were added, eliminated, and one bunker was converted to a large and deep hollow of cropped grass. Overall it sounds like this hole will be more challenging for advanced players, with bailout areas for conservative players.
The 15th hole fairway bunkers were combined to create a much larger hazard and bunkers near the green were beautified.
The design team adjusted 16th hole bunkers to tempt golfers with driving the green while simultaneously restricting the approach.
The marquis 17th par 3 depicted in our images has been modified and now you will find a serious of 5 bunkers around the green as well as a tightly mown grass collection area in lieu of the back left bunker.
The final 18th hole has been dramatically adjusted with bunkers next to the pond, and a larger divided green split with a ridge, which will be a huge change from the past (as depicted in the next photo).
