Four Seasons Palapita Tap House: the hidden little gem at Peninsula Papagayo
One of the delights of any vacation has to be the food! The Peninsula does not disappoint with the dozen restaurants onsite. However, one of my family’s favorite’s does not seem to get much play… and it should!
Why do we like the Palapita Tap House so much? First off, it is super convenient and close to the condos and all of Papagayo Luxury’s vacation rental villas. It is a quick 2 minute golf cart ride from any of our properties. Located right next to the tennis and pickleball courts, and the pro shop, you can grab a bite after a round of golf, or take a beer (or smoothie) to go!
The food is delicious, and fast! It is a small menu with a selection of Costa Rican and Latino street food favorites. Start your culinary journey with the house guacamole served alongside crispy chips and flavorful salsa. For a refreshing twist, sample the Peruvian ceviche made with the freshest Catch of the Day. Don’t miss the Spicy Mango Cup with lime and tajin for a burst of tropical flavors. For a quick and satisfying bite, savor the Costa Rican street food staple: tacos. Choose from a variety of fillings including beef, fish, chicken, or crispy quinoa and broccoli. If you’re in the mood for something unique, the Kobe Beef burger with portobellos and pineapple (my personal favorite!) or the crispy chicken with avocado offer delightful twists on classic American meals.
Indulge your sweet tooth with Palapita Tap House’s homemade paletas (ice pops) available in a range of delectable flavors. Treat yourself to the Berries & Yogurt, Vanilla Ice Caramel, or Pina Colada paletas. For those seeking a unique twist, the Tamarindo paleta made with tequila and tajin is a must-try. Additionally, Palapita Tap House specializes in locally crafted beer from the Papagayo Brewing Co., offering a high-quality selection that celebrates the coastal experience of Guanacaste.
We also like the super casual vibe at the Palapita Tap House. It provides a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere suitable for families. With ample space for kids to move around and wide umbrellas providing shade, you can enjoy your meal while keeping cool and comfortable. They even have some games right next to the seating to keep everyone occupied after ordering!
We would be remiss if we did not mention the beer options at the Tap House! They keep the taps stocked with locally sourced cerveza from the Papagayo Brewing Co. They have regular staples and rotating seasonal brews. My favorites are Sour Gose (not always featured), and their Beach Lager.
Enhance your stay in Costa Rica by visiting Palapita Tap House during your time at Peninsula Papagayo. Palapita is a culinary gem that invites you to unwind and savor the best of Costa Rican street food. With its diverse menu, health-conscious options, homemade paletas, and locally crafted beer, Palapita Tap House offers a dining experience that combines authenticity, flavor, and relaxation. Don’t miss the opportunity to indulge in this culinary oasis during your visit to Guanacaste.
