Pickleball is all the rage and Peninsula Papagayo is no stranger to the sport! In fact, my first time ever playing pickleball was at Peninsula Papagayo, pre-pandemic! Now, the resort has expanded from the original location at the Four Seasons hotel (a re-designed parking area to beautifully showcase 2 hard courts). Now, there are recently re-surfaced Har Tru tennis and pickleball courts located at the Peninsula Papagayo tennis center.
Last year, Peninsula Papagayo had transformed one of the tennis courts into 3 pickleball courts and recently hired their resident pickleball pro. And they didn’t hire just any pickleball expert… Fernanda is a two-time National Pickleball Champion of Costa Rica. And she is lovely to boot. Check out her welcome to all of you to come play pickleball.
Fernanda is available for private pickleball lessons and there are periodic clinics set up, as well. Of course, if you are staying at one of our luxury villas or condos, we are happy to arrange times on the court for you throughout your stay. Or, if you want to take it up a notch, it would be an incredible experience to bring your pickleball team for team bonding and expert training at our pickleball facility.
Outside of the pickleball courts, we can arrange special activities for you, like our newly opened ropes course in the canopy of Peninsula Papagayo. Or there is a variety of other adventures to be had, like zippiness, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, surfing, ocean-side yoga, horseback riding, ATVs… simply a medley of fun. Or enjoy the dozen restaurants at Peninsula Papagayo or we can arrange a private chef at your villa so you can chill out while the chef makes an incredible meal for you and your team (whether that is a pickleball team, or a family of enthusiasts).
Our properties are perfect for a team outing… whether you opt for a larger villa to house everyone together (like Arcos Del Mar, a beach front villa in Papagayo with 4 king suites, and a bunk room with 6 beds! or Villa Belvedere with 5 bedrooms with queen or king options). Or, if your particular group doesn’t want group bonding 24/7, it could work better to take a few 3 bedroom condos for a bit of separation.
Have questions? I am happy to help. I moved to Costa Rica in 2004 and discover the newly opened Peninsula Papagayo resort development the same year (and purchased property within the resort thereafter). I am an expert in the area and I’m happy to help you enjoy it as much as me and my family continue to enjoy it. Don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly to talk about your pickleball or travel needs, and I will advise on the details of each home to help you make the best decision for your group. What could be more fun than pickleball in paradise?
Pura Vida!
