When my kids were growing up, our evenings at Peninsula Papagayo were filled with adventure. We would take the golf cart down to Marina Papagayo just before sunset to enjoy the peaceful views. But the real fun began on the way back, when we’d turn the ride into a “safari.” Using flashlights, we’d scour the hillsides and open golf areas, searching for nocturnal wildlife. The thrill of spotting foxes, coyotes, field mice, and even a snake (!) was unforgettable. We even saw one fox so regularly that we affectionately named him “Mr. Skinny Legs.” These magical encounters became a cherished family tradition that added something special to our stay.
