A Newly Renovated Three-Bedroom Residence at Peninsula Papagayo
Vista Hermosa is a beautifully renovated three-bedroom, 3.5-bath residence in Las Terrazas, set high on the hillside within Peninsula Papagayo with sweeping views across the tropical forest toward the Pacific Ocean.
This residence has a special history for Papagayo Luxury: Vista Hermosa was my own vacation home at Peninsula Papagayo for many years. After we sold the property, the new owners undertook an extensive renovation, transforming the interiors with contemporary furnishings, custom millwork, warm wood finishes and thoughtful design details while retaining the exceptional layout, expansive terraces and views that originally made me fall in love with the home.
Now available once again through Papagayo Luxury, Vista Hermosa combines the space and privacy of a private residence with easy access to the beaches, clubs, restaurants and activities of Peninsula Papagayo. With three private bedroom suites and accommodations for up to eight guests, it is particularly well suited to families, couples traveling together and multigenerational vacations.
Indoor-Outdoor Living with a View
The heart of Vista Hermosa is its expansive open-concept living and dining area. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors fill the space with natural light and keep the surrounding landscape and Pacific views constantly in sight.
The renovation has given the residence a sophisticated new look, with warm woods, contemporary furnishings, architectural details and a neutral palette that complements rather than competes with the scenery outside. The adjacent designer kitchen is equally well considered, with high-end appliances, generous workspace and everything needed for breakfast at home, family meals or an evening with a private chef.
Open the glass doors and the living space continues onto Vista Hermosa’s generous covered terraces. Furnished areas for lounging and dining make it easy to spend much of the day outside, whether you’re lingering over morning coffee, reading in the shade or enjoying cocktails as the afternoon light changes over the peninsula.
One of the pleasures of this elevated location is simply watching the landscape around you. Tropical birds are frequent visitors, and monkeys and other wildlife can often be spotted moving through the surrounding forest.
Three Private Bedroom Suites
One of Vista Hermosa’s greatest strengths has always been its floor plan. The three bedrooms are thoughtfully separated from one another, allowing everyone to have a private retreat while still enjoying the convenience of staying together under one roof. Each bedroom also opens onto its own private terrace.
The spacious primary suite features a king bed, large expanses of glass, direct access to its private terrace and a beautifully appointed en-suite bathroom.
The second bedroom is another comfortable king suite with its own en-suite bath and private terrace, making Vista Hermosa an especially good choice for two couples or grandparents traveling with their adult children and grandchildren.
The third suite is particularly versatile. A king bed with two custom built-in twin bunks above allows the room to work equally well for another couple, children or an entire family sharing one suite. It also has its own en-suite bathroom and private terrace.
With three king beds plus two twin bunks, Vista Hermosa comfortably accommodates up to eight guests without sacrificing an adult-quality bedroom to create a children’s bunk room.
Four Private Terraces & the Las Terrazas Pool
Outdoor living is an integral part of Vista Hermosa. The residence has four private terraces — one adjoining each of the three bedroom suites and a large covered terrace extending from the great room. This gives everyone their own outdoor space while also providing a generous central terrace where the group can gather.
The main terrace extends naturally from the living and dining areas, with comfortable seating, outdoor dining and a built-in grill. It’s an inviting setting for morning coffee, a leisurely lunch, cocktails at sunset or dinner prepared at home or by a private chef.
Just outside the residence is the beautiful Las Terrazas resort-style infinity pool, surrounded by tropical landscaping and sun loungers. It is wonderfully convenient for an early morning swim, a quiet afternoon close to home or a few hours by the pool between other activities around the peninsula.
Because Vista Hermosa is a private residence rather than a hotel suite, you have the freedom to settle into your own rhythm: breakfast in the kitchen, a morning at the beach, lunch on the terrace, an afternoon beside the pool and dinner at one of Peninsula Papagayo’s restaurants.
A Golf Cart Is Included with Your Stay
A premium six-passenger golf cart is included with your stay, making it easy — and fun — to explore Peninsula Papagayo.
Take the cart to Prieta Beach Club, head to the golf or sports facilities, explore beaches and viewpoints, or simply go for an early morning or late-afternoon drive when monkeys, coatis and tropical birds are often active.
For many of our guests, exploring Peninsula Papagayo by golf cart becomes one of the unexpectedly memorable parts of the vacation.

A Personal Favorite at Peninsula Papagayo
Having lived in Vista Hermosa myself, I know this residence differently than almost any other property I represent.
I know what it’s like to open the terrace doors first thing in the morning and hear the forest come alive. I know the pleasure of watching monkeys move through the trees, heading out by golf cart for a day at the beach and coming home to those views at the end of the afternoon.
The residence has changed beautifully under its new owners, but the qualities that made it such a special place to live remain: the views, the privacy between the bedroom suites, the generous outdoor spaces and the wonderful location within Peninsula Papagayo.
